It is planned to open the Honorary Consul Office of the Republic of Turkey in Bashkortostan. It was announced at a meeting with the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Russian Federation Mehmet Samsar.

“In all states, the Office of the Honorary Consul involves work to optimize cultural ties, trade, and economic relations. Taking into account transport accessibility, we regularly visit your republic; however, the Honorary Consul will be able to direct and focus our attention on certain issues. This will contribute to the development of our relations, ”said the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey.

The meeting participants discussed many joint projects, in particular, one of the largest in the history of the Bashkir-Turkish projects - the construction of the Eastern Exit from Ufa. The cost of the transport corridor between the federal highways M5 and M7 is 33.5 billion rubles. An advance payment of $ 26 million has already been transferred to the Turkish contractor, the head of the republic said. Very soon, tunneling works will begin. The Ambassador was invited to the grand opening.

“We see the interest of Turkish business in the Republic of Bashkortostan. There is another important project - the construction of a new maternity hospital building with the project cost of about 3 billion rubles”, said Radiy Khabirov.

Besides, negotiations are underway with Turkish businessmen on the construction of a large transport terminal at Ufa Airport, as well as major sports facilities - the Palace of Wrestling, the Palace of Volleyball. On January 31, a large delegation from Turkey will come to the light industry forum in Ufa. Currently, there is a direct flight from Ufa to Istanbul; the number of flights is planned to increase.

“I am sure that the opening of the Representative Office of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the Republic of Turkey, the city of Istanbul, will contribute to the revival of our foreign economic activity. A major visit of the Bashkir delegation is supposed there”, Radiy Khabirov noted.

The Head of the Republic recalled that a Representative Office of the State Committee for Foreign Economic Relations RB had already opened in Ankara.

Radiy Khabirov also touched on cultural cooperation. Thus, the days of Turkish Films in Bashkortostan are proposed to be made traditional. The Head of the Republic invited the Ambassador to the World Folkloriada, which will be held in Bashkortostan from July 18 to August 2.

In turn, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey said that a visit of Turkish ministers to Bashkortostan is planned in the future. There are also cultural projects.

The meeting was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan Ismet Erikan, who currently also oversees issues related to Bashkortostan, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Andrei Nazarov, Chairman of the State Committee for Transport and Roads Timur Mukhamedyanov, Minister of Culture Amina Shafikova and Chairman of the State Committee RB for Foreign Economic Relations Ruslan Mirsayapov.
