Thematic meetings of Head of Bashkortostan recognized as best regional practice in Russia

Thematic (industry) meetings of the Head of Bashkortostan are recognized as the best regional practice and awarded the federal prize in the “Region of the Future” nomination (best practice in managing the region). Radiy Khabirov was awarded the prize by Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Presidential Chief of Staff, at the ceremony in Moscow. Together with Bashkortostan, the Leningrad and Tyumen regions were among the nominees, but our republic confidently won.
According to Sergei Kiriyenko, the competition will help to create a kind of pool of practices that the regions can use to solve specific socio-economic problems of their territories.
“We, the heads of the entities, are really trying to come up with some solutions. At the same time, we live in a competitive environment. I know for sure that we are watching Tatarstan, and it is watching us. We learn from the Moscow region, Moscow, Chelyabinsk, and other regions,” the Head of Bashkortostan marked.
For over a year Radiy Khabirov has been holding such thematic sessions in the Bashkortostan Government as “Investment Hour”, “Hour of Tourism”, “Construction and Transport Hour”, “Urban Environment Hour ”, “Health Care Hour”, “Education Hour”, and “Governor Hour". They allow focusing on the most pressing issues of a particular industry and comprehensively approaching them with the involvement of all interested parties. Moreover, the agenda often includes those topics that residents of the republic mention in their appeals.
In particular, due to the decisions adopted at “Construction Hour” sessions, it was managed to remedy the situation with 11 problematic houses and restore the violated rights of more than one thousand equity holders.
At 39 “Investment Hour” sessions, the participants considered 153 investment projects with a total investment of about 360 billion rubles, involving the creation of more than 23.5 thousand jobs.
The decisions taken at “Health Care Hour” sessions helped to increase the availability of medical care, improve the facilities of healthcare institutions, and achieve a positive tendency in attracting young specialists and eliminating personnel shortages.
