Radiy Khabirov: Bashkiria acts as model for traditional religions cooperation

The Muslim Ummah of Bashkortostan has great merit in strengthening interfaith peace in our country, said the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, speaking at a plenary meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-Islamic World”, which is taking place at the Ufa Congress Hall. According to him, our republic acts as a kind of model for traditional religions cooperation. The head of the region recalled that it was not by chance that in 1788, by decree of Empress Catherine II, Ufa was recognized as the center of Islam in Russia.

“In Bashkortostan, the traditions of Islamic education are strong, which were established by the famous madrasas “Galia” and “Gusmania”. Today it is necessary to use the vast experience of Islam in the moral education of youth, ”said Radiy Khabirov.

Recall that this year the meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia – Islamic World” was devoted to the topic of interfaith harmony and dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the organization of Islamic cooperation, as well as the 90th anniversary of the prominent Russian politician Yevgeny Primakov, one of the founders of the Strategic Vision Group. The Forum delegates represent 25 countries.
