Bashkiria and Bahrain plan to cooperate in economic sphere and tourism

Today, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov held a working meeting with the President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Russia Ahmed Abdulrahaman Al-Saati. They arrived in the republic to attend the 5th annual meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia – Islamic World”.

The Head of the republic noted that it was a great honor for the region to welcome such distinguished guests and emphasized that the republic was one of the centers of Russian Islam. Nowadays, mosques are actively being built in Bashkortostan; there are already more than 1,400 of them.

“We pay great attention to cooperation with the countries of the Middle East, including the pearl of the Persian Gulf - the Kingdom of Bahrain,” said the Head of the region and spoke about the advantages of our republic.

In his response, the brother of King Bahrain, Sheikh Abdulrahman presented his greeting and marked the great potential of the republic.

“His Majesty maintains good relations with President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Many memorandums of cooperation have been signed between our countries in various spheres of life. We have something in common between Bahrain and your republic. We are rich in oil, and we know that your republic is very developed, great attention is paid to Islam here, to the development and preservation of its traditions. Our visit should contribute to the development of closer relations”, said Sheikh Abdulrahman.

According to the Head of Bashkortostan, the republic is open for cooperation, and there are many areas where mutually beneficial contacts can be established. In addition to petrochemicals, this is engineering and tourism.

“Our conversation with the Head of Bashkortostan turned out to be constructive; I brought him the greeting of our king. We have agreed that we will work on cooperation in various fields and will reach agreements signing”, Sheikh Abdulrahman told reporters.
