Russian State Duma deputy from Bashkiria Inga Yumasheva was interrogated at New York airport

State Duma deputy from Bashkiria Inga Yumasheva is in the United States now. She arrived there to participate in the Fort Ross American-Russian Dialogue Forum.

Izvestia reports that the deputy was interrogated at the New York airport. An FBI officer asked “absolutely incomprehensible, obscure and unacceptable questions” for about an hour and also suggested Inga Yumasheva communicating “in informal surroundings,” said Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov.

The Russian Embassy in the United States sent a note of protest due to the interrogation of the State Duma deputy.

Moscow noted that despite Washington’s interference, representatives of the Russian Federation will still attend the event. It is known that in the USA, Inga Yumasheva also planned to meet with fellow countrymen - natives of Bashkortostan.
