Direct flights to Israel may be launched from Ufa

The need to open a direct flight from Ufa to Israel was discussed at a meeting of Acting Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Russian Federation, Harry Koren. According to Harry Koren, the opening of direct flights would enhance the investment and tourist attractiveness of the territory. Among the other promising areas of cooperation, the Ambassador named the sphere of high technologies - IT, cyber defense, autonomous transport, support for technology startups. The parties also discussed the prospects for developing cooperation in the economy, humanitarian and social spheres, the press service of the head of Bashkortostan reports.

Radiy Khabirov noted that currently, the Jewish community of Bashkortostan was not too numerous, but very active. It is in large part due to the chief rabbi of Ufa and the republic Dan Krichevsky. Ufa Jewish Center with a synagogue is one of the largest national Jewish complexes in Russia and Europe. “Or Avner” school is also located in the building with all the conditions for the full development of children of all nationalities. Dan Krichevsky initiated the project to create a Parental Home - for the elderly.

Speaking about foreign trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Israel, Radiy Khabirov said that according to the results of 2018, it amounted to only $ 2 million.

“I am convinced that we have a much more pronounced potential for increasing our turnover,” Acting Head of the republic emphasized.

One of the most promising areas of cooperation is agriculture. In particular, at the 2019 Sochi Russian Investment Forum, an agreement of intent was signed with the Israeli LR Group to build a dairy cattle-breeding complex for 7,000 heads in the Kushnarenkovsky district. The volume of investments will be 10 billion rubles. Harry Koren thanked the leadership of the republic for supporting the project and expressed confidence in its successful implementation.

According to Radiy Khabirov, Bashkortostan and Israel have great potential for building up scientific, technical, inter-university, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the development of tourism.

Besides, the republic began to build relationships with the Horev Medical Center. The first group of doctors from Bashkortostan has already visited an internship in the framework of the program “Horev without Borders” in Israel. Moreover, in October in Ufa, the first Russian-Israeli Medical Forum will be held with the participation of the major specialists of the two countries.
