Over 15 thousand candidates are registered for local elections in Bashkiria - CEC

In Bashkortostan, more than 7 thousand deputy’s seats are replaced in elections to representative bodies of local self-government. About 16 thousand candidates have been nominated to replace them, the Chairman of the Republican Central Election Commission Ilona Makarenko told reporters.

As of July 22, about 15.4 thousand candidates were registered, of which almost half were representatives of the United Russia party.

More than 4.6 thousand self-nominated candidates are involved in the elections.

“14 political parties participate in the local elections. Representatives of 11 parties are registered. Among them there are representatives of parliamentary parties: United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, Fair Russia, as well as the Patriots of Russia, Yabloko, the Party of Pensioners for Justice, the Russian Ecological Green Party, the Native Party, and Civic Platform Party" added Ilona Makarenko.

Elections to local governments will be held in the republic on September 8 - on the same day as elections of the Head of Bashkortostan and by-election of deputies of the State Assembly - Kurultay RB of the sixth convocation. Fourteen candidates were nominated in two districts, five were registered in each district, the CEC reports.

Eight people will run for the post of the Head of Bashkortostan.
