"Vladimir Putin’s "Direct Line" proved his uniqueness among world leaders - Tolkachev

Russian President Vladimir Putin once again proved his uniqueness among world leaders during the “Direct Line” on June 20. This opinion was stated immediately after the live broadcast by the Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay of Bashkiria Konstantin Tolkachev.

“This format of communication with residents of the country, the tradition of which the head of state set up almost two decades ago, has no analogs in the world”, commented on the Speaker of Parliament. “Perhaps, no other program has such popularity and such a response on domestic television as “Direct Line”. The broadcast has once again collected millions of questions from Russians related to the essential areas of the country's development. The format of responses to the most relevant of them, solving such problems in real time, on the air, requires from the President maximum professional competence, full information awareness on all topics, the ability to make the only right decision in no time.”

Konstantin Tolkachev stressed that the tradition of the “Direct Line” did not stop even in the challenging years for the country, in an unstable political and economic environment.

“This time, hard-hitting questions were asked too. The head of state explained the reasons for the difficulties with the implementation of the so-called “garbage” reform, economic grounds of such seemingly unpopular decisions as the VAT increase,” the Chairman of the State Assembly said. “Besides, answers were given to questions on almost all critical areas of domestic policy that concern residents of all regions. These are the availability of primary health care, preferential provision of medicines, implementation of national projects, support for large families, agricultural development, state of the Armed Forces. The readiness of our President to communicate with the people in any situation, his ability to answer any questions, solve them, have a direct impact on the high level of voter confidence that Vladimir Putin has enjoyed for many years”.
