400 million rubles will be spent for head of region elections in Bashkiria

Four hundred million rubles were allocated from the budget of the republic to conduct an election campaign of the head of Bashkortostan, as well as deputies of local councils. The Chairman of the CEC of Bashkiria Ilona Makarenko at a press conference in the Bashinform News Agency said that the commission had asked the regional government about another 7-8 million rubles for the rental of ballot processing systems (KOIBs).

The Deputy Chairman of the CEC, Marat Gadilov, explained that negotiations were underway with other regions. On September 8, elections will be held in other regions of Russia, so there are not many available ballot processing systems. The Central Election Commission of Bashkiria has 219 systems now. They were used in the 2018 presidential elections in Russia.

At the election of deputies of the State Assembly, the ballot papers processing systems were installed at 811 polling stations (two systems at each polling station). 23.92 percent of the total number of polling stations were equipped with them.
