Radiy Khabirov appointed environmental education curator in Volga Federal District

The activities of the state authorities of the Volga Federal District in the field of MSW management were discussed at the first meeting of the working group of the Council under the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of Russia to the district.

The Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin and the Acting Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov heard the reports of the representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Construction, the Federation Council and other relevant organizations. It was decided to divide the main issue into two sections. The Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region will be responsible for the first one (preparation of materials in terms of the environmental rehabilitation of the Volga River, the elimination of the most dangerous objects of accumulated environmental damage and unauthorized dumps within cities) and the head of Bashkortostan will oversee the formation of environmental culture, the development of environmental education and training of citizens, the press service of the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of Russia to the Volga Federal District specified.

“The issue under consideration is related to the achievement of goals and objectives set by the President of the Russian Federation in the Decree No. 204 of May 7, 2018,” said Alexey Kuzmitsky, the Deputy Plenipotentiary Envoy of the head of state to the Volga Federal District.

In June 2019, a meeting of the working group under the Plenipotentiary Envoy will be held in Ufa regarding solid waste management issues.

As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, the Acting Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, called for separate collection of garbage and environmental education.
