It was proposed to introduce quotas for women number in governing bodies at Yalta Forum

UFA, 19 April 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
At the Economic Forum in Yalta, it was offered to introduce quotas for the number of women in the top management of companies and government agencies. The discussion about the role of women in business and government management was held at the "Bashkortostan" pavilion.
During the discussion, data from the NAFI Analytical Center were presented, according to which, according to the gender gap index, Russia ranks 75th in the world among the 144 countries studied. The share of women in the management of companies in 2017 was 47%, by 2019 it dropped to 41%. The average salary of women is more than 40% lower than that of men.
Previously, experts of the labor forum, held in February in Ufa, talked about the fact that women were paid 40% less than men. At the same time, it was stated that according to the data of the Russian feminist association “ONA”, the share of women among general directors is 2.4%, on the boards of directors of companies - 8%.
An interesting statistic data were given by the leader of the “Women in Directors Boards” project Elena Rychkalova. According to the data of 2018, the capitalization of companies, where the leadership was mixed, increased by 14%. Where there were only men in the administration, capitalization fell by 3.8%.
According to Elena Rychkalova, gender quotas have been adopted in 23 countries of the world in order to preserve gender balance - this is a serious factor for successful business development. Gender quotas operate, in particular, in China. For example, if the mayor is a man, then among his deputies there must be women. The participants in the discussion agreed that where the ultimate goal of the activity is a man, women are more effective in management.
