Polling stations will work by two hours more in Bashkortostan
UFA, 10 April 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In Bashkortostan, it is planned to extend the opening time of the polling stations by two hours. Deputies of the State Assembly - Kurultay of the Republic intend to consider the corresponding draft law “On Amendments to the Code of the Republic of Bashkortostan on Elections” at the next plenary session of the republican parliament.
Under current legislation, polling stations in the region open at 8 a.m. and work until 8 p.m. In accordance with the bill, stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“We extend the work of the polling stations for the convenience of voters. The proposed rule will provide an opportunity to vote for more citizens, - commented the Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev.
The second Sunday of September of the year is a single voting day in elections to the state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and local governments. On September 8, 2019, the election of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan should be held on a single voting day, as well as the election of deputies of various levels in separate electoral districts.
