Radiy Khabirov: Elections of Bashkortostan head must be legitimate and honest

The Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov said that the upcoming elections of the head of Bashkiria should be legitimate, and it should not be a Pyrrhic victory. In his opinion, which he expressed at a meeting with the leaders of the factions of the United Russia party, the elected head of the republic should have a moral basis in local councils that he did not deceive people and was honest in the elections. And now organizational, technological and political measures are being taken that should ensure the legitimacy of the elections.

“It will be a competition, disputes, a detailed explanation of our program to residents of the republic. For me, the election campaign began on October 11th. We must get its act together to win with dignity”, said Radiy Khabirov.

As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, the election of the head of the republic will be held on September 8, 2019. The head of the region is elected for five years. Any citizen of Russia older than 30 who does not have citizenship of another state can become a candidate. Both political parties and citizens can independently nominate their candidatures. In the second case, signatures of citizens are collected and the written support of deputies is provided. The newly elected head of the region will take up his duties from the moment of taking the oath in the Russian and Bashkir languages.
