Radiy Khabirov visited “Legend of Urals” Digital Kurultay Forum

Radiy Khabirov at the second forum of the “Legend of Urals” Digital Kurultay talked to bloggers, PR specialists and social media experts. The event takes place in the "Yakty-Kul" sanatorium, where the head of Bashkiria visited as part of his working trip over the Abzelilovo district.

Radiy Khabirov quite frankly shared his thoughts about working on the Internet.

“It is a challenge for us, working on social media, and we have accepted it,” admitted Radiy Khabirov, meaning all officials of the republic. “I am not a fan of the Internet and social networks, in particular. I prefer books. And before working in Krasnogorsk, I have never been on social media. But now it is the most important tool for us. Because we have to be where the people are, and if the people are here, then we have no choice”.

According to Radiy Khabirov, social networks for him are a way to monitor pressing issues, and a way to deliver his thoughts to the public, a platform where you can explain what the authorities are doing and why.

The head of the region also shared with the difficulties that he had when working on the Internet.

“When we do good and right things in difficult situations, for example, as it is now in Sibay, certain forces in social media are working against us, posting misinformation. And if we failed to organize normally work with people in real life, offline, it would be much worse”.

He listened attentively to the recommendations of experts who came to the forum from different cities of the country to share their experience. In particular, Oleg Barmin advised to do more videos, always with subtitles, because 70% of people watch social networks without sound, Kermen Mandzhieva recommended not responding to obvious provocations.

Radiy Khabirov admitted that he felt inflated expectations from the residents of the republic.

“People are waiting for schools, kindergartens, hospitals to appear as quick as a flash. But miracles do not happen. It will be a long way. But we will follow it, including social networks too - we will continue focusing on communicating with our residents there”, said the head of the region.
