25th anniversary of Russian Federation and Bashkortostan Republic Constitutions

In Ufa Congress Hall “Toratau” a solemn meeting was held dedicated to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the Constitution of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay RB Konstantin Tolkachev delivered a speech to the attendees of the event.

The Chairman of the Parliament recalled the basic principles of the Constitution of Bashkortostan and urged not to draw the line between the two fundamental documents.

“The basic principles of the Constitution of Bashkortostan are unchanged - the protection of the human rights and freedoms, the interests of the republic, the separation of branches of power, the right to life, work, free medicine, education, and so on. They directly follow from the humanistic message set forth in the Constitution of the Russian Federation,” said Konstantin Tolkachev. “It is important to note here that we should not distinguish between our two constitutions. Taking the key positions as a basis, the republican constitution supplemented and disclosed them with due regard for regional peculiarities. It is significant to continue strengthening the common legal space for the country and its regions”.

The Speaker of the parliament thanked the team of lawyers who had participated in the work on the republican Constitution elaboration.

“Largely due to this document, the republic functions successfully, and meets every new day with optimism,” said Konstantin Tolkachev.

The solemn meeting continued with a festive concert.
