Radiy Khabirov announced new agency creation that will combat parking on lawns

UFA, 18 December 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Acting Head of the republic Radiy Khabirov during a working trip to Kumertau announced the creation of a new agency that will deal with parking problems on lawns.

“We need to arrange parking bays for private cars. Soon we will start straightening things out in this area too”, said the head of the region.

Radiy Khabirov gave an example of the Moscow region, where fines for parking cars on lawns constitute about 2 billion rubles a year, in the republic this amount is 5 million rubles a year.

Now fines for parking are charged only in the framework of traffic violations. There are no other legitimate levers allowing punishing violators.

In several Russian cities, landscaping regulations have been adopted that prohibit parking on lawns. In February 2018, deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan adopted a similar bill. The amounts of fines are impressive: from 2 to 3.5 thousand rubles for individuals, from 5 to 20 thousand for officials and from 50 to 100 thousand rubles for legal entities. The fines are levied by the administrative commissions of the municipalities.
