Radiy Khabirov: Uzbekistan is one of Bashkiria’s long-standing partners

We have common cultural, linguistic, spiritual roots. We are united by Islam, the Turkic world. This was stated by the Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov during a meeting with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov.

“Yesterday’s events in Ufa (a presentation of cultural and recreational opportunities, gastronomic, eco and ski tourism in the framework of the “Travel to Uzbekistan!” project) allowed us to get to know Uzbekistan even better, to discover many unknown facts”, marked Radiy Khabirov.

According to the head of the republic, Bashkortostan is interested in the growth of mutual tourist flows, and the “TERRA BASHKIRIA” brand becomes recognizable far beyond the borders of our republic. At the end of 2017, the trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Uzbekistan amounted to $ 65 million. Moreover, 83 percent of it was accounted for the export of Bashkir goods. Uzbekistan takes the 15th place among 124 countries - trade partners of Bashkortostan, the fifth place among the CIS countries. There is a direct air flight “Ufa – Tashkent”, the press service of the head of the region informs.

The Uzbekistan Ambassador Botirjon Asadov noted that educational and interregional forums were held during the recent visit of the President of Russia to their country. The package of agreements, which was signed within the framework of the forum of the two states regions, constituted more than 2 billion dollars. These were the investment, trade, export, import agreements, agreements on the mutual supply of goods.

Uzbekistan has also signed several agreements with the agrarian and medical universities of the republic. Total, about 230 students from Uzbekistan study in Bashkortostan, 54 of them at Bashkir State Medical University.
