Radiy Khabirov ordered to prevent "Bashkortostan" Publishing House’s bankruptcy

UFA, 16 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov ordered to prevent a bankruptcy of the "Bashkortostan" Publishing House. According to "Medikorset", the head of the republic said that the region would not remain without a single state publishing house. At a briefing session in the Government RB, Radiy Khabirov harshly criticized the officials who allowed the enterprise to go bankrupt, and ordered to prepare remedial options before November 15.

As the head of the Ministry of Land and Property Management RB explained, as of the beginning of October, the company had accounts receivable in the amount of 49.8 million rubles and accounts payable in the amount of 385.5 million rubles. The main debts were accumulated in 2009 - the company was unable to repay a loan taken to acquire new printing machines.

One of the major lenders is the Ministry of Land and Property Management represented by its investment company Regional Fund, which claims are estimated at 133.5 million rubles. Another creditor is VTB Bank, with a claim amount of 178 million rubles.

As previously reported, a date of the meeting has already been scheduled for October 23, to make a decision on ceasing the economic activities of the publishing house. The company employs more than 100 people; they received redundancy notices back in July.

The editorial offices of the newspapers published by the Bashkortostan publishing house in large print editions were notified that its operation would be terminated in early September. Thus, "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" is printed by the State Unitary Enterprise "Bashkortostan" until October 26. "Arguments and Facts" will be printed in Yekaterinburg since November.
