UFA, 8 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Five modernized Ka-27M anti-submarine helicopters were delivered to the disposal of the Baltic Fleet. The fleet spokesman Roman Martov said that this had happened as part of the program of planned re-equipment of naval aviation in 2018.
According to the TASS agency, the helicopters were upgraded by specialists from the Kumertau aviation production plant, part of the Russian Helicopters Holding.
“The on-board radio-electronic equipment has been updated, a new search system and radio-acoustic equipment have been installed. All this allows us to significantly improve the efficiency of solving problems in search and detection of enemy submarines, ” the agency quotes a representative of the fleet.
