Putin proposed to soften Criminal Code article on hatred incitement

Russian President Vladimir Putin put forward an initiative to soften article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, proposing to apply it only if a person was brought to administrative responsibility for similar actions during the year. This is reported by the federal media.

Part 1 of Art. 282 "Incitement of hatred or hostility, as well as the humiliation of human dignity" is a so-called "extremist" article, according to which, criminal charges for posts, comments, and even "likes" in social media were initiated.
