Rustem Khamitov met with delegation of Vietnamese Ba Ria-Vung Tau province

On September 25, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with a delegation of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province (Socialist Republic of Vietnam) headed by the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, chairman of the Province People's Council Nguyen Hong Linh. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the industrial, trade-economic, scientific and cultural spheres.

"The cooperation between our regions is becoming increasingly close and regular", Rustem Khamitov said. "Currently we closely cooperate in the investment, scientific, educational spheres".

The Head of the Republic reminded that the next year, 2019, would be a cross-year year of Russia in Vietnam and Vietnam in Russia. As part of the program of the cross years, a wide cultural program is planned. In particular, Bashkortostan proposes to conduct a tour of the F. Gaskarov Folk Dance Ensemble in Vietnam, including in the province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Rustem Khamitov called for the development of trade and investment cooperation between Bashkortostan and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

"Our republic is one of the leading centers of the Russian petrochemical industry," said the Head of Bashkortostan. "We mainly export to Vietnam the products of the chemical industry and petroleum products. At the same time, our republic has developed machine building. We are ready to supply buses, helicopters, construction equipment, oil, and gas equipment to Vietnam. You can consider a possibility of localizing the production facilities directly in the province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau".

Rustem Khamitov marked that the two regions need to strengthen their work in the area of establishing joint ventures.

Nguyen Hong Linh noted that the leadership of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province was interested in cooperation with Bashkortostan in the oil and gas industry, in the field of engineering, transport, agriculture, tourism, and culture.

"The Vietnamese diaspora in Ufa, which numbers 1,500 people, and the Russian diaspora in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, which numbers more than 3,000 people, is a good opportunity for the development of bilateral relations, our cooperation in all spheres," said Nguyen Hong Linh. "We would like that every year more and more delegations will come from Bashkortostan to Ba Ria-Vung Tau and vice versa, in order to develop cultural and economic ties, relations between the residents of two regions".

"I am confident that we will be able to further strengthen our cooperation. We should work actively in this area," summed up the Head of Bashkortostan.
