Rustem Khamitov: "Elections were fair and held in ordinary course"

The Chairman of the "United Russia" party, Chairman of the Government of Russia Dmitry Medvedev conducted a video conference with the regions following the Single Voting Day results, in which Rustem Khamitov, the Head of Bashkortostan, member of the Supreme Council of the party took part.

"Judging by the preliminary data, the results are quite decent, worthy", said Dmitry Medvedev. “Thus we congratulate you on conducting the election campaign and wish you success.”

“Bashkortostan as always worked actively in the part of elections holding. We have quite good results – the turnout was about 50 percent. Of the 3 million voters, 1.5 million came to polling stations,” said the Head of the Republic. “Now, 27 percent of the ballots are processed. United Russia wins with a result of 61 percent. Our single-mandate candidates also have done a good job. Representatives and nominees of United Russia win in most of the 55 districts. It is already clear that we will win in more than 40 districts.

The head of the republic noted that more than half of the voters had voted through the ballot processing systems. In particular, 95% of polling stations were equipped with them in Ufa.

Summing up the results of the Single Voting Day, Dmitry Medvedev noted that United Russia showed good results in the elections.

According to him, candidates for positions of regional leaders who were nominated or supported by the party were quite successful.
