UFA, 7 September 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In Bashkortostan, a law was passed to preserve the existing benefits for pensioners of people of pre-retirement age. The essence of changes is aimed at preserving regional benefits for people of the current retirement age, regardless of their status as a pensioner. This was stated by the Speaker of the State Assembly RB Konstantin Tolkachev.
"The Russian President in a televised address to the Russians on August 29 proposed a number of mitigating amendments to the draft federal law on pension reform," commented on Konstantin Tolkachev. "On behalf of the President, the United Russia party launched an initiative to preserve regional benefits. The head of state proposed to take appropriate decisions in the regions before the federal law would enter into force. In this regard, amendments were made to the republican law "On War, Labor and Armed Forces Veterans", which preserve the current measures of social support for men when they reach the age of 60 years, for women - 55 years, regardless of their retirement".
As the Speaker of the Parliament noted, it relates to several types of social support. This is monthly cash compensation for housing and utility payments to labor veterans, monthly cash payments to labor veterans, monthly cash payments to veterans who have a long record of service, additional payments to veterans who have honorary titles and special merits.
The bill was adopted as a whole. The new law will come into force since January 1, 2019.
