Bashkiria and Saxony will develop mutual students and teachers exchange program

Bashkortostan and Saxony intend to develop an educational project for the mutual exchange of students and foreign internship of teachers in order to strengthen language practice. This issue was repeatedly discussed during a visit to the republic of the Saxon Landtag official delegation.

The importance of expanding the ties between the regions of the two countries was identified at a meeting of the delegation with the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.

Discussion of the topic continued at a meeting of parliamentarians of the Saxon Landtag with the Chairman of the State Assembly Konstantin Tolkachev and the deputy corps of the republic.

The Member of the Saxon Landtag Committee on Environment and Agriculture, deputy chairman of the CDU faction Ines Springer conducted a meeting at Bashkir State Agrarian University with the leaders of Ufa educational institutions with an in-depth study of the German language. Issues of cooperation in the sphere of student exchange and advanced training of the teaching staff were discussed with the directors of gymnasiums No. 39 and No. 86, the Education Center No. 35, school No. 103.

During the meeting, the parties came to a common opinion that the exchange of students and the training of Saxon teachers in Bashkortostan and vice versa would be mutually beneficial. In Saxony, as one of the advanced regions of the former GDR, a great interest in Russian culture and the Russian language still remains. A significant part of the adult population studied it at school.

In turn, an opportunity to visit Saxony within the educational exchange will open up broad prospects for schoolchildren from Bashkortostan.

"This can be a good start in life for many of our guys, allowing integration into the European community, getting a good job in the future", Konstantin Tolkachev is convinced.

The foreign trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Germany increased by 14% in comparison with 2016 and reached 211 million dollars. According to the results of January-June this year, it already significantly exceeded the figures of the last year and amounted to 220 million dollars. The expansion of economic cooperation implies the demand for specialists with knowledge of the German language, and the schoolchildren have a clear understanding of this.

During the meeting of Frau Springer and the Ufa schools directors, the options for cooperation in the field of student exchange, internships for teachers and development of joint educational Internet resources in Bashkortostan and Saxony were discussed. Possible programs in the field of environmental and musical education were considered along with the projects on language practice.
