Bashkiria CEC denied registration to 24 single-mandate candidates

UFA, 31 July 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In Bashkortostan, 24 candidates were denied registration in single-mandate constituencies, including nine self-nominated candidates and 15 candidates from electoral associations.
The head of the regional Central Election Commission Khaidar Valeev announced the results of candidates’ registration for the elections to the State Assembly RB. As the secretary of the CEC RB Marina Dolmatova explained, the reason for the refusal is "insufficient number of signatures or failure to provide the necessary documents".
A total of 290 candidates were registered in single-mandate constituencies. In all 55 districts, only two parties will be represented - United Russia and LDPR. Elections of deputies to the regional parliament will be held on September 9. 110 deputies are to be elected. At the same time, half of them to be elected in single-mandate constituencies, the remaining 55 – in a single electoral district.
