Rustem Khamitov met with Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh

Yesterday, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Russian Federation, Ngo Duc Manh, appointed to this position in early 2018. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the industrial, trade-economic, scientific and cultural spheres.

Currently, the Russian-Vietnamese cooperation represents itself a strategic partnership. The year of 2019 was declared the cross-year of Russia in Vietnam and Vietnam in Russia.

The head of the region noted that in recent years the Bashkir-Vietnamese relations were growing and developing. A cooperation agreement has been signed with the province of Bari-Vung Tau. The delegation of Bashkortostan visited Vietnam at the beginning of last year.

"We have a mutual interest with a large Vietnamese corporation TH Group, which plans to build large dairy complexes in our republic", stressed Rustem Khamitov. "We should use the opportunities of the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam".

The head of the republic told about the forthcoming major international events to be held in Bashkortostan in the coming years and invited the Vietnamese delegation to take part in them.

Ngo Duc Manh noted that Bashkortostan became the first region of Russia, which he visited as the Ambassador.

"I think that we have every opportunity to strengthen our cooperation. And the fact that the Vietnamese corporation TN Group has already launched large-scale investment projects here, testifies to the fact that favorable conditions have been created in the republic for other Vietnamese businessmen who want to invest in it.”

The Ambassador said that at present a concrete plan of cooperation between Bashkortostan and the province of Bari-Vung Tau was being worked out, which delegation may visit the republic already this year.

Recall that the largest volume of foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan with Vietnam was achieved in 2015. It amounted to 15.1 million dollars, and the bulk of this amount was for export.

Five enterprises with the participation of capital from Vietnam operate in the territory of Bashkortostan and they are engaged in tourism, catering, food production, and trade.
