Dmitry Medvedev is nominated as Prime Minister

UFA, 8 May 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. Vladimir Putin put forward Dmitry Medvedev for the post of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and submitted the nomination to the State Duma for approval. The head of state decided on the issue immediately after the Russian President took office on May 7. By a separate decree, Vladimir Putin instructed the Government of the Russian Federation to continue acting until the formation of a new Government of the Russian Federation.

The State Duma Committee for Control and Regulations prepared and submitted to the Council of the State Duma a procedure for considering the issue of giving consent to the President of the Russian Federation for the appointment of the Chairman of the Government within the framework of the next plenary meeting of the State Duma.

Prior to consideration of the issue at the plenary session, consultations will be held between parliamentary factions with a candidate for the post of Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"We are planning to hold a meeting with United Russia at 4:00 pm on May 7, with the LDPR at 6:00 pm, and meetings with the Communist Party and Just Russia parties at 8:00 pm, at 10:00 and 12:00, respectively. The meeting of the State Duma in this case will begin at 15:00 on May 8", said the Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
