Liliya Gumerova: "Expanding international cooperation in innovation sphere is relevant"

St. Petersburg hosted a plenary session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the countries-participants of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) under the chairmanship of Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko. Liliya Gumerova, the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Science, Education and Culture, presented a model law "On joint research and cooperation in the innovative products (services) development and production" aimed at forming a national regional innovation policy of the CIS member states as part of the session.

"This document is aimed at creating a model legal framework for joint research and cooperation in the development and production of innovative products. The implementation of the model law will help arranging a single integrated mechanism of legal regulation on the basis of already established institutions of national legislation, reducing the number of regulatory acts in the field of innovation activities of the CIS member states, improving the regulation in the field of innovation activity at the legislative level", noted the Senator from Bashkortostan.

According to her, common approaches to the implementation of innovation activities will facilitate and expand the cooperation in the field of innovation between the CIS member states.
