Russian Government supported legislative initiatives proposed by Bashkir Parliament

The Russian Government supported draft amendments to the law "On general principles of organization of local self-government in the Russian Federation" submitted by the State Assembly of Bashkortostan to the State Duma. The parliamentarians propose to change one of the organizational and legal forms of inter-municipal economic companies from a closed joint-stock company to a non-public joint-stock company, the press service of the regional legislature said.

"In accordance with the current legislation, such companies may be established in the form of CJSC or LLC representative bodies of municipal entities for a joint resolution of local issues", commented on the Chairman of the State Assembly of the Republic of Konstantin Tolkachev. "However, in 2014 such types of joint-stock companies as open and closed were abolished. A new classification of joint-stock companies is established in the form of public and non-public companies. We propose to amend the federal legislation, replacing the CJSC with non-public joint-stock companies. This will simplify the interaction of municipalities in all regions of the country. "

In addition to the Russian Government, the legislative initiative of the Bashkortostan Parliament was supported by the State Duma Committee on the Federal Structure and Local Self-Government. The Council of the State Duma appointed the consideration of this bill in the first reading on April 12.
