Konstantin Tolkachev presented Russian national policy to parliamentarians of 47 states

The Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev made a presentation on the "Regional Identity and Integrity of Nation State" theme in Strasbourg at a plenary session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. The Chairman of the Bashkortostan Parliament acquainted his colleagues from 47 countries with the state national policy of Russia aimed at preserving the identity of ethnic groups, supporting their languages and culture.

Konstantin Tolkachev noted that Russia was the first in Europe in terms of the multi-ethnicity coefficient.

Konstantin Tolkachev also told the European parliamentarians about the peculiarities of the national policy in Bashkortostan.

"This is one of the largest entities of our country with a unique ethnic, confessional composition and rich resource potential. Traditions of living together of 160 ethnic group representatives have formed in our territory historically. I can say that much is being done in Russia to preserve the regional identity harmoniously integrated into the all-Russian identity", the Chairman of the Bashkortostan Parliament marked.

Konstantin Tolkachev told about the laws passed in recent years in our republic that created mechanisms for implementing the constitutional rights of citizens to freely develop their own languages and culture, noted that studies in 15 native languages had been organized in Bashkortostan schools.
