Russian Government will equalize incomes of men and women

UFA, 22 March 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The Russian Government has approved a plan for implementing the National Strategy for Women. The decree was signed by the chairman of the government Dmitry Medvedev, Izvestia reports.

The implementation of the strategy will, among other things, create conditions for reducing the income gap between men and women, as well as for increasing the number of women officials and politicians, and reducing the level of violence.

In addition, a list of "non-women" professions will be reviewed and options for mitigating punishment for women for minor crimes will be considered.

Control over the implementation of the plan of measures is entrusted to the Ministry of Labor. The agency will report to the Government on a monthly basis.
