Public observers’ activity during elections 2018 was successful in Bashkiria - Public Chamber RB

UFA, 20 March 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. The public observers’ activity in Bashkortostan was successful during the elections of 2018, the Public Chamber of the Republic reported on the results of the voting day. On that day, 10,300 public observers worked at the regional polling stations under the auspices of the Bashkortostan Public Chamber. Participants in the elections monitoring have been trained to ensure that the event of state importance should be as honest and transparent as possible.
"The work on public observers training began in the region in December and lasted until February. In addition, on March 18, about 1,500 people from the Public Chamber of Russia monitored the polling stations. We have realized the effect of such active public observation since the very morning. The incoming controversial issues were fixed up immediately on the spot,” said the deputy chairman of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the head of the temporary working group for monitoring the implementation of citizens' electoral rights Oleg Galin. According to him, a body of public observers in the republic should be preserved and their experience should be used in the future.
Also at a press conference in the Bashinform News Agency the experience of Public Press Center operation during the 2018 was named unprecedented. Its work was organized to broaden the coverage of the course of the voting day. The center worked from 7 am on March 18 to 7 am on March 19. For a day 400 people visited it. About 180 media representatives worked there, more than 70 speakers, seven party representatives and candidates' staffs, five doctors of science, and 12 candidates of sciences delivered reports there. Briefings, live broadcasts from the Central Election Commission of Russia and Bashkortostan were held.
