Ufa native voted in presidential elections in Russia in Australia

UFA, 18 March 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Daria Petrova/. An Ufa native Aliya Yurisik casted her vote in the presidential elections in the Consulate General of Russia in Australian Sydney. The girl has been living abroad for several years, but she voted for the first time.
"During the previous elections (to the State Duma of the Russian Federation - Ed.), I was in New York, a queue to the polling station was very long - I did not have enough patience to wait", says Aliya. “Now I live in Sydney, and despite a hot day (+39 degrees Celsius!), I decided to vote - for the first time in my life. I regret not having done this before. This is our right, and we should exercise it and express our opinion – this is what the elections exist for".
The Consulate General of Russia is located in the downtown next to the consulates of Poland and Serbia - a 15-minute walk from a metro station. This is a very prestigious and expensive district of the city.
Aliya’s husband, an Australian citizen, accompanied her to the Consulate General of the Russian Federation.
Today, on March 18, presidential elections in Russia are held. Eight candidates are competing for the post of the head of state: Baburin Sergey Nikolayevich ("Russian National Union"), Grudinin Pavel Nikolayevich (Communist Party), Zhirinovsky Vladimir Volfovich (LDPR), Putin Vladimir Vladimirovich (self-nomination), Sobchak Ksenia Anatolyevna ("Civil Initiative"), Suraykin Maxim Alexandrovich ("Communists of Russia"), Titov Boris Yurievich (Growth Party), Yavlinsky Grigory Alekseevich ("Yabloko").
