OSCE observers assessed work of Public Election Press Center in Bashkiria

UFA, 18 March 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. Long-term observers from the International Observation Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Eric Werner and Natasha Tsullino evaluated work of the Public Election Press Center in Ufa. On the eve of the elections, the observers managed to visit electoral commissions in the cities of Ufa, Salavat and Sterlitamak, met with representatives of various political parties.

According to Natasha Tsullino, in addition to them, 12 short-term OSCE observers are present in the republic. They observe the voting in the cities of Oktyabrsky, Neftekamsk, Salavat and Sterlitamak.

Natasha Tsullino noted that it was her first time in Bashkortostan, and she had very good impressions of our republic.

The guest from Europe said that she had tasted chak-chak, belesh and wild-hive honey in Bashkiria. Observers liked the national dishes and hospitality.

In order to monitor the elections of the President of the Russian Federation on March 18, 2018, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) sent 480 observers to the constituent entities of the Russian Federation that are part of the OSCE/ODIHR International Monitoring Mission.

In Bashkortostan, a mission of CIS observers works at the presidential elections. It consists of one observer from the Republic of Belarus and 12 representatives of Kazakhstan.

On the voting day, international observers accompanied by translators will be able to observe polling stations work and votes counting at one of the precinct election commission. Observers will be present while entering final protocol data into GAS "Vybory" system at a territorial election commissions. Based on the results of the observation, they will receive certified copies of the final protocols of precinct election commissions and summary tables of territorial election commissions.
