UFA, 1 March 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The Russian President Vladimir Putin delivers his Address to the Federal Assembly. The head of state assesses the state of affairs in the country and determines the main directions of domestic and foreign policy. This is the 14th Address for Vladimir Putin.
In 2018, the head of state will address the parliament for the first time in the big Manezh. Earlier, the announcement took place in the St. George Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace. The transfer is associated with an increase in the number of participants of the event. In addition, screens to display infographics will be used that are difficult to install in the Grand Kremlin Palace.
About one thousand people are invited to the ceremony. They are members of both houses of parliament - the State Duma and the Federation Council, the members of the Government, the chairmen of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts, the Prosecutor General, the head of the Central Election Commission, the head of the Accounts Chamber, the members of the State Council, the Public Chamber, the heads of major confessions, the heads of regions and cities of federal significance, others high-ranking officials, as well as representatives of the media.
As a result of the Address, special assignments are formulated to the government.
According to TASS, Vladimir Putin addressed the Federal Assembly 13 times. For the first time, in 2000, the head of state spoke about the threats of physical aging and extinction of Russia and its increasing lag behind the countries of the West.
