Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian national ice hockey team on winning Olympics in Pyeongchang

UFA, 26 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to the Russian national hockey team, which won the 23rd Olympic Winter Games 2018 in Pyeongchang.

The telegram, in particular, says: "The road to the champion’s title was not an easy one. Nevertheless, you were able to come together and confront strong opponents with team spirit, character and will, at the same time demonstrating wonderful technique, and your ability to make speedy attacks and keep it tight at the back.

These qualities of true fighters were always characteristic of our ice hockey squad in its way to victory. This success is a wonderful tribute to the Russian ice hockey school, and a great example for our younger athletes".
