Head of Bashkortostan CEC Haidar Valeev met with international observers

UFA, 20 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Bashkortostan Haidar Valeev met with long-term observers from the International Observation Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Natasha Tsullino and Eric Werner.
The foreign observers were interested in some aspects of the republican electoral system functioning - working with the list of voters, training members of precinct election commissions and informing voters, interaction of the republic's CEC with political parties. During the meeting, the guests expressed their intention to attend one of the training events of the CEC RB with members of the territorial and precinct election commissions.
To monitor the election of the President of the Russian Federation on March 18, 2018, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will send 480 observers to the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, who will work as part of the OSCE/ODIHR International Monitoring Mission.
60 long-term observers of the Mission will stay permanently in the regions of the Russian Federation from February 13 to March 25, 2018, in charge of monitoring the election campaign and preparing for the arrival of short-term observers.
Short-term observers will arrive in Moscow on March 13, 2018, and on March 16 they will go to the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, where they will monitor opening of polling stations, a voting process, as well as closing of polling stations and summing up the results in precinct and territorial election commissions.
