Liliya Gumerova spoke at exhibition honoring 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment between Russia and Azerbaijan

The Senator from Bashkiria, the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Science, Education and Culture Liliya Gumerova delivered a speech at an exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations establishment between Russia and Azerbaijan.

"It has come a long way for 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Today we can say that we are entering a new stage of interaction. Cooperation in politics, economy and humanitarian sphere is actively strengthened, but the main value is human contacts establishment, when ties in the economy and culture develop into friendly communication between the peoples of the two countries", the Senator said.

Also the Senator from Bashkiria noted that together with the Azerbaijani colleagues there was cooperation in the field of education, science and culture, for example, the open branch of the Moscow State University in Baku, the project of opening the Baku branch of the Sechenov’s First Moscow State University.

"It is enough mentioning the results of the 4th Baku International Humanitarian Forum, in which more than 400 delegates, 14 Nobel laureates, heads of several international organizations took part. The Russian delegation, which was headed by the Chairman of the Federation Council, has traditionally been one of the most numerous at the forum," the parliamentarian marked.
