CEC handed over protocol on signatures verification to Vladimir Putin’s authorized representative

UFA, 6 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The Central Election Commission of Russia handed over a protocol on the results of signatures verification in support of Vladimir Putin to his authorized representative. It regards 315 thousand signatures, which were handed over by volunteers of the pre-election headquarters of Vladimir Putin. This is the maximum permissible number of signatures that a self-nominated candidate can submit to the CEC. Total, more than 1.5 million signatures of Russians were collected throughout the country in support of the candidate's self-nomination.
Handing over the protocol entitles the CEC to hold a meeting to consider the registration of V.V. Putin as a candidate for the presidential elections in Russia. However, the CEC emphasizes that it should take at least two days after the delivery of the above-mentioned document and before a meeting of the commission, so it will not be held until Tuesday.
Earlier, the CEC announced the results of checking signatures sheets. Only 0.39% of the randomly selected 60 thousand signatures were recognized as invalid. This is a record low result.
