Vladimir Putin estimated helicopter engine assemblies production at UEC-UMPO

UFA, 24 January 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The head of state visited the Ufa Engine Industrial Association (UMPO) during his working visit to the capital of Bashkiria. Vladimir Putin inspected a production and technology center for helicopter engines manufacturing and assembling.

The UEC-UMPO, as part of the import substitution, participates in the program for production of the VK-2500 helicopter turbine engine units intended for most Mi and Ka helicopters. Previously, engines were supplied from Ukraine.

The components of the VK-2500 engines are manufactured in cooperation of the Ufa plant with other factories of the United Engine Corporation (UEC).

The head of state was shown one of four production and technology centers created within the framework of the project. It specializes in manufacturing turbine units and nozzle assemblies VK-2500. The head of state was shown a modernized VK-2500P engine equipped with a digital electronic control system and having higher performance characteristics, as well as a TV7-117C engine. The latter is intended for the Il aircraft.

Also, the President inspected an exposition, which included spare parts and assemblies of the PD-14 engine for the MS-21 airliner, gas compressor unit and others. The production facilities were presented to the head of state by the General Director of JSC UEC Alexander Artyukhov and the Managing Director of the UEC-UMPO Evgeny Semivelichenko.
