Bashkortostan and Yakutia have identified cooperation milestones until 2020

On December 16, as part of the business program of the Days of Yakutia in Moscow, the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Rustem Mardanov and Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Evgeny Chekin signed a plan of measures for 2018-2020 to implement the Agreement between the two republics on trade, technical and cultural cooperation. The plan specifies the framework agreement on cooperation signed earlier by the heads of regions at the intergovernmental level.

Rustem Mardanov noted that the plan was adopted for two years, but with a long-term prospect.

Rustem Mardanov recalled that today there were agreements between academies of sciences of the two republics, and cooperation between individual enterprises.

The Prime Minister of Yakutia stressed a practical orientation of the joint plan. First of all, it is focused on strengthening trade and economic cooperation. In particular, the parties agreed to exchange experience on legislation in the field of investment and innovation policy, mechanisms for supporting investment activities. It is also planned to promote republics during trade and economic missions and presentations, exchange information on goods and services produced by economic entities of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Since 2014, there has been a positive trend of trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Yakutia. Thus, in 2016 it grew by 17.2% against the previous year, primarily due to an increase in exports from Bashkortostan to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for food and industrial and technical purposes.
