Putin announced his intentions to run for presidency in Russia in 2018
UFA, 7 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. Putin announced that he would seek re-election in the presidential elections in Russia in 2018, TASS reports. The head of state stated this at a meeting with veterans and workers of the GAZ Group Automobile Plant.
"Yes, I will run for the presidency of the Russian Federation," he said.
The words of the head of state were greeted with applause. "Thank you for this reaction," Putin said to the car factory team.
"Thank you for your work. Thank you for your attitude to your duties, the enterprise, the city, and the country. Together we will succeed", the President stressed.
The term of office of Vladimir Putin expires on May 7, 2018.
In 2018, Putin will participate in the election campaign for the fourth time as a presidential candidate. In case of victory, he will hold the post of the head of state for another six years, from 2018 to 2024. For the first time he was elected the Russian state President for a 4-year term in 2000.
