Vladimir Putin held meeting with former governors

UFA, 3 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the outgoing heads of Daghestan, Novosibirsk Region, Ivanovo Region, Samara Region, Omsk Region, Orel Region, and Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Nenets Autonomous Area, and Primorye and Krasnoyarsk Territories. The event was not attended only by the ex-governor of the Pskov Region Andrey Turchak. Addressing the former leaders of the regions, the President noted that they remained members of his team, and he "is always at their disposal". Their experience and knowledge will be used in new areas of work.
The former governors will receive state awards - Vladimir Putin stressed that each of them in his place did the utmost to stabilize the economic situation and create conditions for the further development of the regions. "All of you worked in difficult circumstances. Here is what I wanted to say. We are all aware that it never was smooth sailing. There is no need to describe the situation", Putin said, noting that such conditions were due to external constraints and the difficult situation in the global economy.
The President invited ex-governors at the New Year reception in the Kremlin and said that he would instruct his administration to organize a meeting of former and new regional leaders.
This meeting is a positive signal, which means that "we have continuity in power in Russia", Oleg Matveichev the professor of the National Research University, Higher School of Economics commented on to RIA Novosti.
