Dmitry Medvedev instructed to work on improving quality of life in monocities

UFA, 31 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. The Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev instructed relevant departments to increasingly develop a healthcare system in monocities, to work on the formation of a comfortable urban environment and to develop entrepreneurship. The instruction was received by the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Health, Education and Science, Transport, Construction and Housing and Communal Services, as well as the Monocities Development Fund and the SME Corporation.
The document also highlights the necessity to implement further measures to create a comfortable urban environment and a street road network in single-industry towns. The Prime Minister calls for the development and support of individual and small business, in particular, it is proposed to create centers for the provision of services for business.
The Deputy Chairman of Vnesheconombank and Head of the Priority Program "Integrated Development of Mono-cities" Irina Makieva commented on the interim results of the implementation of the comprehensive federal program "Five Steps to the Improvement of Everyday Life": "By the beginning of September of this year, 317 monocities have completed measures and landscaping projects, while in 251 cities 451 projects were completed with the established key performance indicator of 887 projects. In 78 single-industry towns out of 37 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the targets have been fully achieved".
