Bashkiria parliamentarians raised pensioner subsistence minimum to 8320 rubles

UFA, 27 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. In Bashkiria, a pensioner subsistence minimum will amount to 8320 rubles in 2018. The parliamentarians of the republic adopted this bill in the first reading at a plenary meeting on October 27. Specifically for this category of citizens, the subsistence minimum is set to determine the social supplement to pensions.
In 2017, the subsistence minimum was set at 8,015 rubles. Based on this amount, non-working pensioners now receive an additional payment to their pensions. To date, it has been assigned to about 138 thousand elderly people.
"Non-working pensioners, whose financial security is lower than this amount, are subject to social surcharges. There are categories of pensioners whose incomes are below the subsistence minimum. In accordance with the current legislation, they are entitled to a surcharge. The size of it varies in different parts of the country and depends on the subsistence minimum for pensioners established by the regions, "commented on the Chairman of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev. "By raising the size of the subsistence minimum, we thereby increase the amount of surcharges for pensioners in the territory of our republic, whose financial security is lower than this amount. This measure of support will affect the least socially protected categories of pensioners".
