The head of state appointed Gleb Nikitin Acting Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region until taking office by the newly elected Governor.
This is the second resignation in the governor's corps in two days. Yesterday Vladimir Putin dismissed the Governor of the Samara region Nikolai Merkushkin. The Acting Head of the region was appointed 47-year-old Dmitry Azarov - a member of the Federation Council, in the past he was the head of the urban district of Samara.
