Rustem Khamitov signed decree on measures to develop Bashkortostan state languages and languages of peoples of our republic

UFA, 14 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov signed a decree on measures to develop the state languages of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the languages of the peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The document was signed in accordance with Article 68 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and in order to implement Article 54 of the Constitution of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The article guarantees equal rights for preserving the native language of the peoples living in its territory, creating conditions for free study of the state languages of the Republic of Bashkortostan following the consideration of the proposals of the Assembly of Peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the World Kurultay of Bashkirs.

The decree established grants of the Head of the Republic for the implementation of projects aimed at preserving, propagandizing and developing the state languages of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the languages of the peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The document also noted the expediency of establishing a foundation for the preservation and development of the Bashkir language.

The Government of the Bashkortostan is instructed to develop and approve a state program on the preservation and development of the state languages of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the languages of the peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan with the "Bashkir Language", "Russian Language" and "Native Languages" subprograms until February 1, 2018, and identify the financing sources of related expenses with the implementation of the Decree.

The Public Chamber of the Republic of Bashkortostan together with the Assembly of the Peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan is recommended to carry out public monitoring of the implementation of federal and republican legislation in the sphere of language policy.
