Rustem Khamitov instructed Public Chamber to monitor implementation of laws on language policy

UFA, 14 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The head of the republic Rustem Khamitov instructed the Public Chamber of Bashkortostan to monitor the implementation of laws in the sphere of language policy. The head of the region signed a Decree on measures to develop the state languages of Bashkortostan and the languages of the peoples of the republic.

"The Public Chamber of the Republic of Bashkortostan together with the Assembly of the Peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan is recommended to carry out public monitoring of the implementation of federal and republican legislation in the sphere of language policy," it is stated in the document.

The decree is aimed at preserving the native language of the peoples living in the republican territory, creating conditions for the free study of the state languages of the Republic of Bashkortostan, ensuring the efficiency and accessibility of the system for studying the Bashkir language and the languages of the peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan, improving the conditions for the development of human and methodological potential in this area based on the consideration of proposals made by the Assembly of Peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the World Kurultay of Bashkirs.
