Bashkortostan delegation visit to Kyrgyzstan began

UFA, 20 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. On July 19, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov led the delegation of the republic arrived in Kyrgyzstan, where he will take part in the "Altai Civilization and Related Peoples of the Altaic Language Family" International Forum.
During the visit, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev will have a meeting.
The forum, organized on the initiative of the President of Kyrgyzstan, will discuss the results of recent scientific research, educational and cultural projects aimed at strengthening the humanitarian ties of peoples inhabiting the vast territories of Eurasia, on the basis of common Altaic languages, ethnogenetic and historical-cultural ties.
The Kyrgyz Republic ranks fifth in the total volume of the republican trade with the CIS countries, with a share of 3.1 percent. The volume of foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan with Kyrgyzstan in 2016 amounted to 30.7 million dollars and mainly consisted of exports.
Currently, there is a steady trend towards improving foreign trade performance. The mutual turnover for January-April 2017 exceeded the same period of the last year by almost three times, and imports surpassed the indicator of 2016 in general by 70 percent.
Among the products exported from Bashkortostan are oil products, as well as steel wire, caustic and calcined soda, herbicides, fertilizers, plastic products, glued plywood, fiberboard and chipboard. The main import items are aluminum and copper products.
There are five enterprises in the territory of the republic with the participation of Kyrgyz capital, engaged in trade and legal activities.
In 2015, the Days of Culture and Science of Bashkortostan in the Kyrgyz Republic were held, and in June 2017 - Days of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bashkortostan. Since 2006, the Kyrgyz national centre Ala-Too has been operating in the republic.
Between the leading universities of Bashkortostan and Kyrgyzstan there are over 30 agreements on cooperation. In 2016/2017 academic year, 60 Kyrgyz students studied at the republican universities.
