Rustem Khamitov: "The Kyrgyz and Bashkir peoples have common origins and cultural framework"

UFA, 23 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. A working meeting of the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev took place in the House of the Republic yesterday.

During the meeting, the topical issues of bilateral relations were discussed in a narrow format.

Then the meeting continued in an expanded format with participation of delegations. The sides discussed issues of economic, scientific and cultural cooperation development, as well as prospects for strengthening inter-regional ties.

"Development of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan is one of the most important directions in the foreign economic sphere for our republic. Today we are steadily strengthening our ties in the field of trade, science, education, culture", stressed Rustem Khamitov.

The Head of the Region noted that Bashkortostan was ready to cooperate with Kyrgyz partners in the field of agriculture, industry, energy. There are opportunities to supply the products of machine-building industry, produced in Bashkortostan, including buses, agricultural machinery. Negotiations are under way on the establishment of a wholesale distribution centre in Bishkek.

"We have two global and main components of cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic - the economy and the spiritual and cultural development of our peoples," said Rustem Khamitov.
